MELLOTT — Beverly “Bev” Jo (Clore) Crowder, 72, 214 W. Bever St., Mellott, died at 12:49 a.m. Friday, Aug. 31, 2007 in St. Clare Medical Center, Crawfordsville. She was born Sept. 28, 1934 in Crawfordsville, the daughter of Austin and Georgia (Cole) Clore. She married Donald D. Crowder in 1962 in Mellott. She grew up in Crawfordsville and graduated from Crawfordsville High School in 1952. She had resided in Mellott for the past 45 years. She had worked as a cook in the Montgomery County Jail and at the 76 Truck Stop. She was an aide for the Woodland Manor Nursing Home in Attica. She had also worked as a clerk at the Earring Tree and had been a Tiara Glassware Distributor. She had formerly attended the Church of Christ in Mellott. She liked to play bingo and paint. Survivors include: two sons, Harold "Gene” E. (Priscilla) Burge, Mellott and Greg (Angela) Burge, Waveland; a daughter, Pamela (Mike) Thomas, Veedersburg; two step daughters, Dinah Chandler, Evansville and Juanita Sue Crowder, North Carolina; a step son, William Earl (Robin) Crowder, Brandon, Fla.; two brothers, James (Jane) Clore, Crawfordsville and Charles (Judy) Clore, Missouri; a sister, Delta Mae Owens, Romney; 13 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and a great-grandson, Cameron. Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Maus Funeral Home, Hillsboro, with Charles Clore officiating.
